PIT: Literally on the Road

My last meeting ended at 5:03 and my flight is at 6:55. It's currently 5:19 and the average speed on the freeway is about 20 mph. The driver is confident we'll get there in plenty of time... I don't 100% share his optimism.

Pittsburgh is an interesting place. I wouldn't call it exciting, but it is definitely picturesque. Much hillier than I expected and with very artistic looking bridges, all of which are yellow. We experienced a few Pittsburghian things, like the Duquesne Incline and the Pirates game at PNC Park. In my few, and admittedly brief walks around downtown, it did not strike me as though there was much exciting there.

I'm looking forward to getting to the airport. I didn't get much chance to look around on arrival (not that I will now either), but I've always wanted to see the AirMall. It was probably more impressive and appropriate when PIT was a US Air hub. But it'll still be interesting to see.

PIT: Heinz North America

There's a different location for Heinz vs Heinz North America. Heinz NA has a gift shop. On the 9th floor. Where you need to sign in through security. And they're only open 10-3. And closed for lunch. Which is now.

PIT: Heinz HQ

I was expecting something more significant. And ketchupier.

PIT: PNC Park

Tonight the New York Yankees are in Pittsburgh to play the Pirates in an interleague game. This is their first time here since 1960, when the Pirates beat the Yankees with Bill Mazeroski's walk-off home run.

This picture is of Derek Jeter moments before grounding into a double play.

PIT: Please won't you be my neighbour?

That's right... Mr. Rogers also dropped in as well... From beyond the grave.

Why not Sydney Crosby or Ben Roethlisberger?

Any subsequent pictures will probably look the same but here is Scotiabank Place about 10 minutes before Steven Stamkos gets picked first overall.
